| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 地理學研究所 === 88 === Owing to the need for National Land Development Programme, this study built a procedure for Earth Heritage Conservation site selection, and practiced it in the Coastal Range as study area. “Scientific value”,” conservation possibility”, “duplication”, “accessibility” and “safety” were the criteria for selection of sites. The study selected 38 sites of 40 preliminary sites as Earth Heritage Conservation site, and suggested 2 sites, Eastern Chi-Mei and Gi-Chi sand dyke, to omitted form the list of Earth Heritage Conservation site. 8 sites had been chosen from the northern coastal zone in this study for case study in site management.8 sites had been classified to three groups by landform processes. Site managers can follow the landform process, site position, and site type (exposure site, integrity site, or both) to deal with site conservation and management.
It is difficult to build the classification framework of Earth Heritage Conservation site because of lacking enough sites in study area. So, keeping on registering site is an important work in future. Finally, this report suggested that the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration should draft the management plan of each site, and should pay more attention in geological/geomorphological features conservation, environmental education and scientific research.
