Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 材料科學與工程學研究所 === 88 === Abstract Two techniques are proposed to prepare the microparticles of thermoplastic polymers in this work: (1). Physical emulsification, (2). Interfacial emulsion polymerization. It is aimed to prepare polyamide microparticles with proper particle sizes. The variations of particle size with reaction conditions or techniques, such as agitation speed, emulsion agents, temperature and pH value were studied. The smallest size of the microparticles prepared from interfacial emulsion polymerization was about 30m and from physical emulsification about 5m. The surface morphology of the microparticles was examined by SEM. Most particles showed irregular surfaces and shapes except for the case of physical emulsification technique with cationic emulsifier as surfactant, from which spherical and smooth particles could be prepared. With the addition of polyamide microparticles in epoxy resin, the curing reaction was examined by DSC, the chemical structure of cured composites was studied by FTIR, the thermal and mechanical properties of composite were tested. It was found that the toughness of epoxy resin could be effectively improved by polyamide microparticles.
