Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 畜產學研究所 === 88 === To identify novel zinc finger proteins expressed in the mouse uterus during pregnancy, we first searched the mouse expressed sequence tag(EST)data bases for the putative zinc finger genes with conserved zinc finger domain. Several novel zinc finger containing genes were identified with this approach. We then examined the expression patterns of these genes during different stages of pregnancy as well as different tissues by reverse transcrption-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)analysis. A novel zinc finger gene, zfp553, which is differentially expressed in uterus during different stages of pregnancy was identified. The full length of zfp553 cDNA is 2308-bp which contains an open reading frame encoded 478 amino acids. The deduced amino acid sequence of zfp553 contains three Cys2-His2-type zinc finger motifs. In situ hybridization analysis revealed that zfp553 is expressed predominantly in the uterine epithelial cells. According to these results, the zfp553 may play an important role in maintaining uterine environment during pregnancy.
