The results indicated that six of sixty-seven head of the pigs were halothane positive reactors. The positive percentage was 8.9 %, which was higher than the other breeds. Eleven small-ear Lanyu and one hundred of twenty-five Lee-Sung strain miniature pigs were detected for nucleotide 1811 to 1877 sequence of CRC gene by PCR─REA. The results indicated there were two patterns which clove with HhaI or BsiHKAI, and only one small-ear pig’s cleaving pattern was of the heterozygote type which had 33/34 and 67 bp two bands ( BsiHKAI site created by the C1843T exchange). The other pigs, either small-ear or Lee-Sung miniature strain pigs were normal type which has one band-33/34 bp. When PCR product was sequenced; the 67 bp fragment of PCR product was nucleotide 1811 to 1877 sequence of CRC gene reported by Fujii et al. (1991).Under halothane test stress, the result of testing the value of CK, LDH,(P<0.01) Ca2+, GOT and GPT(P<0.05)in halothane positive pigs was higher than halothane negative pigs. The analyses of the correlation between capillary PCR-REA and capillary MS-PCR test for CRC gene typing of pig. One hundred twenty-five small-ear Lee-Sung strain pig, one hundred sixty-six small-ear Lanyu, seventy Meishan, fifty Duroc, fifty Landrance and thirty Yorkshire were tested with capillary PCR-REA and capillary MS-PCR(mutagenically separated- polymerase chain reaction) test for CRC gene typing, respectively. The results indicate that there was not different between both, so it is concluded that the CRC gene genotyping of pig, application of capillary MS-PCR diagnostic testing will be good practice to select CRC gene genotype pigs. The one hundred sixty-six small-ear Lanyu pigs and seventy Meishan were detected CRC gene by capillary MS-PCR and all of them hundred small-ear Lanyu pigs were tested with halothane, too.
