Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 電機工程學研究所 === 88 === The Taiwan Rapid Earthquake Information Release System (TREIRS) has been developed by the Central Weather Bureau to timely identify the epicenters and magnitudes upon the occurrence of earthquakes. The design objective of TREIRS is to provide quick and reliable responses to earthquakes, thereby minimizing property damage and loss of lives in the shaking locations. TREIRS is currently running on a platform of an MS-DOS, 16-bit environment, and routinely broadcasting the location and magnitude of ground shake and intensity distribution with a 60-second delay. In this project, the framework of TREIRS will be redesigned and its functionality will be enhanced. The new framework will be developed under the environment of Microsoft Windows NT Workstation, taking advantages of multi-tasking, stability, and user friendliness of the Win32 systems. The key components of the new system will include a real-time data acquisition/processing module, a real-time display module, a data storage module, and an integrated graphic user interface. The resultant system will be expected to play an important role for the Central Weather Bureau to highly reduce the damage of the disasters to society.
