Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 環境工程學研究所 === 88 === According to Taiwan EPA''''s investigation, there are about 160 hazardous waste sites in Taiwan as of 1998. These sites have polluted the local environment, including surface water, groundwater, air and soil.
This research intends to probe into the resident''''s carcinogenic risk near one of these sites by using an appropriate groundwater risk assessment model. The groundwater risk assessment model can be divided into two parts. The first part estimates how pollutants distribute among various environmental media and the second part evaluates how pollutants contact human body. Along with assessing the risk, this research tries to identify the important environmental or exposure parameters to facilitate the planning of data collection. In addition, the most important exposure pathways are identified to help optimizing risk control efforts.
In the research, the RCA site is divided into four zones according to the land''''s future use. And there are four receptor groups: adult resident (older than 20 years old), child resident (younger than 19 years old), adult farmer (older than 20 years old) and child farmer (younger than 19 years old).
It is found that the most important exposure pathway is dermal contact water in adult. The child is ingestion fish and the child farmer is ingestion vegetables. As to the most important parameter varies with exposure pathway.
