What is the emotion regulation process? How does the process exhibit? The method of this research is schemed on the qualitative research method. Children were observed in a preschool and children’s mother were interviewed. There are six children observed in this study. The major finding are listed as follows: 1.This essay presented six cases (three boys and three girls) of emotional regulation process. Their emotion regulation processes exist individual difference. However, the study showed no sex difference. 2.The factors which arouse children’s emotion are cognition, past experiences, friends and so on. From social referencing view, children’s emotion regulation processes are relative with their caregivers. 3.Children use copying strategies to regulate emotion. They learn strategies from families. So parents should be interacted with children carefully. Finally, this study provides some suggestions for preschool, teachers, parents and research in the further.
