Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 應用化學系 === 88 === Abstract Erythrina variegata Linn.(Leguminosae)is a large deciduous tree distributed along streams near the seashore of Taiwan . It is also often planted in garden and rosdside , and has a folkloric reputation for medicinal properties such as anti-rheumatism , circulation promoting and insecticidal activities. From the methanolic extracts of the stem of this plant ,thirteen components were obtained by column chromatography. These compounds are long chain ester of ferulic acid 、 phytosterols(campesterol,9.448﹪;stigmasterol,66.768﹪;β-sitosterol,23.784﹪) 、 β-sitosterol 、β-sitosterol-3-O-β-D-glucoside 、 oleanolic acid 、 oleanonic acid 、lup-20(29)-en-3-one 、 olean-12-en-3β,22β-diol 、 olean-12-en-3β,22β,24-triol 、 olean-12-en-3β,28-diol 、 β-amyrin 、 22β,24-dihydroxyolean-12-en-3-one 、 warangalone , The structure of these compounds were identified by spectrometric and chemical methods. Among the above compounds, olean-12-en-3β,22β-diol 、 olean-12-en-3β,22β,24-triol 、22β,24-dihydroxyolean-12-en-3-one were firstly isolated from the genus of Erythrina in the literature.
