Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 日本研究所 === 88 === This thesis is concerned with the causes that influence Japan’s foreign direct investment in the Mainland China and the Intra-industry Trade between the two countries. It is based on Dunning’s “The Eclectic theory” to make an analysis of Japan’s foreign direct investment in Mainland China, and it utilizes the Intra-industry Trade Coefficient and Trade Specialization Coefficient to make an examination of Kojima’s “Japanese Type DFI ”. This thesis first analyzes that Mainland China does have the Location-specific Advantage by comparing with the other Asian countries’ investment environments and their constraint over foreign investment. Second , it also reflects that the Japanese enterprises have the Ownership-specific Advantage of technology dividing and the Internalization Advantage to promote the organization of international transactions within the same firm. Third , owing to appropriate technology transfer , Mainland China has not only become Japan’s export base but has the development of international division of intermediate and final products, by which the highly value added (Japan) and lowly value added (Mainland China) pattern of trade has been built in accordance with Kojima’s “Japanese Type DFI ”. Base on this thesis, we can speculate the more the flow of Japan’s investment , the higher propensity of Intra-industry Trade between Japan and Mainland China.
