| Summary: | 碩士 === 淡江大學 === 建築學系 === 88 === This research discusses the possibilities of architectural spaces and forms in the near future. As we retrospect the history of architecture, the architectural spaces and forms were deeply affected by the contemporary art. Historically, the evolutions of the art style influenced the architectural movements.
This design thesis contains three major architectural designs: Monument of Time, Tower of Millennium, and Gallery of Taipei Cir-River Freeway. Through the design processes, the inter-relationships among modern architecture, contemporary art, and the recent developments of multi-media are emphasized. Several important issues are addressed in this research: 1) to find the possible ways of incorporating computer-aided design technologies into architectural design, 2) to re-investigate the Taipei Cir-River Freeway under a new urban context, 3) to explore architectural spaces through the visual simulation on computer.
Today, the art of avant-garde is extremely influenced by the modern technologies incorporating the mechanical devices and electronic media. This thesis explores the state of the art of computer technologies and philosophy that may derive new opportunities of architectural design.
