Owing to the revolution of software such as the booming of GUI, the operation of PC will be more user friendly. In addition, combined with the progress of software engineering in object-oriented analysis, design and programming plus steady upgrade of hardware, they not only significantly improve the performance of PC, but also provide opportunity and possibility for those new software architectures which were regarded as impossible to realize before. Personal agent that belongs to this architecture as well has several features:1.personalize and humanize through applying user habits.2.Simplify the process of complicated tasks.3.Complete task through user behavior.4.Train or educate users.5.Coordinates with different users.6.Monitor the events and process.7.Have artificial intelligence. From what I have mentioned above, we can easily find that personal agent is suitable to be applied in the OA environment particularly for huge organizations with tree structure such as big business or administrative departments of school. Because huge organization has tendency to resist large change, the major goal of my thesis is to design software that will take a little time for users to learn and actively assist them to engage in dealing business. Of course, agent also has widely applications such as mobile computing, E-Commerce and a lot of other related fields. The point of the thesis is to building a personal agent system for office environments and finally provides a realizable structure, which will be demonstrated by my personal agent system. Moreover, it will combine the interactive program and background operation process to verify the effect for staffs under the office environment. Hopefully, the result of my thesis will be a good experience for the upcoming development of Groupware.
