碩士 === 淡江大學 === 資訊工程學系 === 88 === In the information generation, there are many kinds of work combined with the computer. And the education is not exception. The purpose of this paper is to research in multimedia database technology, and tries to construct an English learning environment, a multimedia corpus. The system will help the student and user to have a better tool for learning English. The English corpus is a multimedia database whose store many kind of multimedia data, there are English sentence, dialog and paragraph of the movies. The user can used the system to find the English sentence patterns, and can give a suggestion when the sentence has a grammar wronging. In this thesis, we will study and use “Link grammar” to annotate the data in the database. It can promote the query level from keyword base and content-based query to semantic level. This paper will be using the skill that is shown in this paper and try to construct the English corpus system using Link grammar, and make a main function to query the English sentence pattern and a grammar check in the corpus database. So as to promote the query to semantic level.
