碩士 === 淡江大學 === 資訊管理學系 === 88 === This study is focused on the integration of EIS (Executive Information System) and data warehouse. We construct an EIS for chain store industry based on data warehousing technology. After constructing a prototype system, we interview 5 CEOs (Chief Executive Officers) and 3 CIOs (Chief Information Officers) for the consideration of giving attentions to EIS construction points, system performance, data integration among data stores, issues of data warehousing, and CIOs’ business requirement. In this paper, we collect some important points and conclusions when constructing an EIS that is combined with data warehousing technology. For example, points for attention of data warehouse construction include: the fully capital support of CEOs, enterprise’ critical success factors related and planned by the enterprises themselves, etc., while the important issues of EIS design should include: 3 dimensions of data query and analysis which meets the managers’ demands, designed to be consistency with standardization and avoid the over-complicated drill downs, etc. Finally, we summarize the consensuses and benefits of the integration of EIS and data warehouse. We hope that this paper can give actual supports of reference for business to develop EIS in the future.
