The two projects ”Happy children grow up community” and “Campus, my home” carried out by Culture Constructing institution of Administration Yuan and Culture Department of Province Taiwan (Office of Culture Constructing institution in Nanto) during 1998 to 1999. Those campus-community activities are proceed by public power in every indicated location all over Taiwan. The two projects’ goal are to connect the relationship among children, community, and faculties in school. In activity procession, the problems long exist in community and school would be solved and also undiscovered problems could possibly emerge. This study focuses on community and elementary school together design living environments. Studying cases are four elementary schools in middle Taiwan. Trying to find out problems and solutions within campus — community participating activities, the procession and difficulties project team encountered, and how the team, school, and community looked for corporation mode to establish a direction for similar future activities. This study would be allowed to integrate and analyze the material and people resources, directions and reform procession in community and society, and present the viewpoints and effects of participants to community-elementary campus activities process by statistic through relative data discussion, field survey and personal interview and questionary survey with project participants. This study and results shows:  The barrier in the former co-activities: 1. The community and campus are both unsure about the activity goal and direction. 2. Some parents and faculties caused problems in participation and corporation during activity procession. 3. The idea of “ ego-protection” at schools breeds a lot of confusion.  The result during later period of co- activity: 1. The realization of “the vitalization of social education” makes students generate highly interest in learning. 2. The supporting extent has been gradually raised under the conservative traditional viewpoints. 3. The constant proceeding of social activities are still proceed after the leaving of project team.  Insufficient parts: 1. The idea of grade-supreme education is still the most concerned result by parents. 2. The Living culture education still need more people to prevail.
