Also, most business managers have recognized that only through fast learning and constantly improve knowledge, can they enhance their adaptability and competitiveness. As a result, knowledge management (KM) grows more and more important. Based on a semi-conductor packaging company in Taiwan that actively implement its KM，this exploratory case study aims to understand the nature of KM extensively. For four main departments of this company (R&D Center, Human Resources Development Center, IC Manufacturing, and Intelligence System Center), this study investigates their KM development process (Knowledge Acquisition, Knowledge Processing, Knowledge Storage, and Knowledge Dissemination) as well as related influencing factors (KM Strategies, Learning Organization, Knowledge Workers, and Information Technology). Results show, in order to improve their core competence through KM, Businesses should not only develop a smooth km process, but also manage related influencing factors effectively, namely they need to transform to be learning organizations.
