With this method, we change the compositions of blinder systematically, and discuss the characteristics of functioning point, linear burning rate and output. The results can be used to optimize the ignition and delay ability of current devices used in army. The experimental models are based on the M204 delay tube. A piezoelectric pressure transducer and a fast response thermocouple were utilized to measure the pressure and the temperature difference of the primer. The phenomena of combustion and flame propagation along the delay composition in the glass tube and of the primer were recorded by using a high-speed camera (recording rate 6 KHz). An application of the Kalman filter with a recursive estimator to determine the impulsive heat flux is presented. The impulsive heat flux was estimated from the measured dynamic response data of structures through an inverse method. The test experiments, four specific charge designs of primers with impulsive heat flux input, were solved to illustrate the effectiveness and good accuracy of the presented method. In this investigation, we used a transient data acquisition system measuring the pressure-time data from the explosion of nine primers. The combustion chamber of the primer in this experimental equipment is assumed to be a closed system. We then calculated their pressures which are in consist with the experimental results.
