The main purpose of this study is to find the reaction conditions in such a way to search the kinetic behaviar、reaction mechanism、activation energy etc. . Terabutylammonium hydrogen bromide(TBAB)is emploed as the phase Transfer catalyst. Rigid conclusions were obtained as follows: 1.The reaction follows psedo-first-order rate law when the molar ratio of the concentration of aqueous-phase reactant(1-Butanol)and the concentration of organic-phase reactant(Epichlorhydrin)is larger than 3. 2.Beyond 600 rpm,the reaction rate and conversion are both not influenced by the agitation speed. 3.The reaction rate and conversion are both increased with the increase of the amount of KOH. 4.The reaction rate and conversion are both increased with the increase of alkaline substance. 5.The reaction rate and conversion are decreased with the increase of the amount of water. 6.The reaction rate and conversion are both decreased with the increase of the temperature. 7.The reaction rate and conversion are both decreased with the increase of the amount of TBAB. 8.A good catalyst is to use the quaternary salt with cation group of large carbon number、symmetry and in the absence of aromatic functional group. 9.The reaction rate and conversion are both decreased with the increase of the amount of organic solvent. 10.A solvent of low polarity is recommended to obtain a higer conversion or reaction rate.
