Currently, in Taiwan, the primary economic activities have transferred from agriculture to manufacture and service industry. The growth of industry has a direct and powerful impact to an expansive city. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the main economic activities of local area. In Taiwan, the chief economic achievement was created due to its industrial progress, especially in the manufacture domain. Moreover, manufacture industry is one of the most important motivators for local economic activities. As the result, in Taiwan, the development of manufacture field has positively related with the economic improvement.
The industrial location analysis is one of the most significant segments of land use planning. Further, through the analysis of industrial agglomeration, it helps to examine the relationship between the trend of industrial development and the appropriate strategy for space-development location. The analysis also provides the database for the policy of local industry or the management of industry. Based on the production function theory and the demographic information of local industry, this study analyzes the relationship between the productivity of manufacture domain and the structure of spatial structure in Taiwan. The findings could also give appropriate recommendations to the government when designing a policy of industry development.
