Description
Summary:碩士 === 長榮管理學院 === 經營管理研究所 === 89 === According to ROC’s Disabled Protection Law, we have not only to give relief to the disables but also to actively promote rehabilitation. We have to provide proper treatment for their medical needs, job training, and job searching so that they could come back to the society to live a normal life, not becoming society’s burden. In order to achieve these goals, we need to understand their current status including both job status and needs on job searching. At the same time, for those disables who currently have job, we like to know their special needs at their work in regards to occupational safety and health in order to help them staying in their job longer. This is only a preliminary study due to the extent of time frame and the funding requirements. A letter survey in accompany of telephone survey were conducted in Kaohsiung City on 12,597 physical handicappers with the range from 15 years old through 65 years old. The results from this study suggest several possible directions that the Kaohsiung City government should be able to pursue immediately to increase the social welfare for the disables. These results could also be used for the labor policy making in the future, including: guidelines for the job training for disables, workplace occupational safety and health regulations for disables, social welfare policies for disables. Disables in the Kaohsiung City should benefit from this study in a profound way.
