This research will review present design theories on beams and columns. Their accuracy and applicability are compared. Then design bases for FRP on reinforced concrete structures are proposed. For beam elements, an economic design method is to limit its shear strength so that shear failure will never control. This research also studies the benefit of retrofit for industrial review.
