This dissertation addresses the integrated inventory strategies for two or more echelons in the supply chain system of deteriorating items. A family of mathematical models for an integrated supply chain inventory system with multi-echelon deteriorating item is developed in this study. The objective is to minimize the total setup cost, carrying cost and deterioration cost for all players in the supply chain system. Economic ordering and pricing policies and various mathematical models of arborescent inventory system with constant demand rate are developed with either constant or instantaneous replenishment rate. It has been shown through the sensitivity analysis that the optimal policy using the integrated approach has reduced the total joint cost in the supply chain system. The mathematical models developed help to provide material and production managers practical guidelines in implementing production and inventory strategies. The pricing policy develops a win-win optimal model in the vendor and the buyer cooperation strategy. The contents of the thesis are as follows: In ChapterⅡ, four cases of arborescent (tree-like) inventory system without considering deterioration are developed. In ChapterⅢ, a mathematical model taking into account the perspectives of both the buyer and the vendor is developed. In ChapterⅣ, a multi-item for a retailer with restricted resources is considered to develop an optimal integrated inventory policy. In ChapterⅤ, a single-vendor-multi-buyer inventory system is considered. In ChapterⅥ, a mathematical model taking into account the views of both the producer and the distributor with multiple lot size per production cycle is developed. In ChapterⅦ, a strategic alliance pricing model using quantity discount is developed.
