Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 材料科學學系 === 89 === Adding Y or Fe in anode for catalytic can synthesize single-wall carbon nanotubes. Adding Fe can synthesize single-wall carbon nanotubes, and as the weight percentages of Fe increase, the diameters of multi-wall carbon nanotubes decrease uniformly. If the weight percentages of Fe is over 10 wt﹪, neither single-wall carbon nanotubes nor multi-wall carbon nanotubes were synthesized. And iron carbide with metal sheen were synthesized instead of single-wall carbon nanotubes and multi-wall carbon nanotubes. Although adding a trace of Y can synthesize single-wall carbon nanotubes, it can not decrease the diameters of multi-wall carbon nanotubes. The effect of adding a trace of Y is weaker than the effect of adding a trace of Fe. We can gain higher yield synthesis of single-wall carbon nanotubs and the diameters of multi-wall carbon nanotubes are decreasing a lot as the weight percentage of Y increasing. We found carbon nanotube bundles when the weight percentages of Y is high (9 wt﹪). We conjecture the reason that of the formation of carbon nanotube bundles is a large number of Y atoms nucleating and growing in the same area.
