| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 交通管理學系 === 89 === Shippers respect efficiency and security of delivery process due to fast speed of economic development and increasing of GNP. Since 1973,the international express corporations entered the international express service market in Taiwan. Until 1984,the local companies provided domestic express service, the amount of cargo increased rapidly.Because of the huge market and the competitors joined the industry,the carriers rose the level of service quality in order to increase the rate of occupancy by providing checking cargo present situation,improving security of goods and reducing delivery time.
In the research,we use the internal operating network of post office for the numerical testing to reach the minimum total cost under the limited service time.The results indicate that in the situation of the same maximum delivery time,the cost of changing the service time of all O-D pairs is 5.3 times of the cost of changing the maximum service time only.In the situation of the same cost,the delivery time of changing the maximum service time only is less 20 minutes than changing the service time of all O-D pairs.The reasons to the results above are two:one is the high fixed cost.When reducing the delivery time of all O-D pairs,the rate of the cargo that must be delivered directly from origin to destination increases due to assign more vehicles to serve.The other is the increased cost is used to reducing the delivery time of short distance O-D pairs which is different from shippers’ intention.Therefore,express service providers’ improving to reduce the maximum delivery time only will have more benefits and meet the shippers’ request.
