Design problems cannot be solved independently. There is no single and explicit problem solution. Conflict arises when designers try to solve problems. Therefore, it is very important for a designer to realize the conflict of design problems for resolving an effective solution. This research attempts to propose a systematic method for conflict representation in architectural design. By clarifying those complicated relationships of the conflicts of design problems, this research help designers to realize the conflicts of design problems, the relationships of the conflicts, and how to solve these problems and conflicts. The scope of this research will be narrowed down to the domain of spatial design for team-teaching. This research is approached according to five steps: First, I analyze the activities and behaviors of the team-teaching methods in elementary schools and junior high schools. Second, the functional requirement of the team-teaching space is examined. Third, a list of possible problems and design principles from all space arrangement, combination and classification are described. Fourth, I analyze the relationships between the conflicts of problems and the design principles. The final step is to develop a network to present design conflicts as well as their relationships, and use it as a reference for design thinking. The contribution of this research is to create an information model for observing the conflicts of design problems. In terms of the systematic representation method, it will reduce the complexity of collaborative design processes, and help designers resolve the conflicts in designing. 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系 === 89 === Architectural design involves complicated processes and a variety of design knowledge, including those from spatial requirements, structure, construction, and environmental control.
