Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 機械工程學系 === 89 === Geometrical optics is a science that emphasized imaging effect and application. It is convenience if study refraction and reflection problem with it, and this is the major purpose of geometrical optics. The goal for this thesis is to utilize the Gauss image-forming matrix method to investigate ray tracing of paraxial rays. Paraxial optics assumes that the height of incidence is small so that all the points and rays are lie in the neighborhood of the optical axis. That is to say, within the paraxial region the angles may be equated to their sines or tangents. In this thesis, we will first introduce skew ray tracing. Then we will derive detailed matrix-tracing method of paraxial rays to obtain actual image spot distribution and realize performance of optical system. Finally, a designed optical system was investigated by the proposed paraxial matrix method to compare the results from skew ray tracing method. It is concluded that results from both methods are very close if the angles between rays and optical axis are smaller than 5°.
