This research was based on the data of the 78 students in Tainan Ta-Kang Elementary school (37 females; 41 males). The different physical curriculum models were held for 10 weeks, three lessons per week, and each lesson for 40 minutes. The physical fitness test and physical self-concept inventory test were administered before and after the experimental classes. The collected data were analyzed by t-test. The main findings were as the followings: 1. The children in the fitness education model program could achieve better than those in the traditionally physical education model program in the aspects of flexibility, muscular endurance, power & cardiovascular endurance (p<.05). 2. The boys in the fitness education model program could achieve better than those in the traditionally physical education model program in the aspects of flexibility, muscular endurance & cardiovascular endurance (p<.05). 3. The girls in the fitness education model program could achieve better than those in the traditionally physical education model program in the aspects of muscular endurance, power & cardiovascular endurance (p<.05). 4. The children in the fitness education model program got higher score than those in the traditionally physical education model program in the total and sub-inventory of flexibility, elasticity, fatness & strength (p<.05). 5. The boys in the fitness education model program got higher score than those in the traditionally physical education model program in the total and sub-inventory of flexibility, appearance & fatness (p<.05). 6. The girls in the fitness education model program got higher score than those in the traditionally physical education model program in the total and sub-inventory of flexibility, endurance & strength (p<.05). Conclusion: The physical fitness education curriculum model had better effects than the traditionally physical education model in the aspects of enhancing the children’s health-related physical fitness and physical self-concept. 周宏室 2001 學位論文 ; thesis 194 zh-TW
