Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 資訊科學系 === 89 === Internet and World-Wide Web open a new information age. In the new information age, how to obtain useful information efficiently and effectively has been becoming a pressing research topic, as explosive quantities of information resources make users get confused in seeking the interesting information. A personalized information environment will help users discover relevant information. In this thesis, we propose a method that automatically extracts the interests of a user according to his past query strategies. After we find out the interests of a user, we can determine if new information are related to the interests of the user. A personalized system, PIE@NCTU (Personalized Information Environment for National Chiao Tung University Library), has been implemented to verify the feasibility of the proposed method. The functions of PIE@NCTU consist of Personal Desktop, Personal Search Engine, Personal Bookmarks, Selective Dissemination of Information, and Personal Awareness.
