A Study of Professional Competencies for Web Page Designers in Taiwan

碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 工業教育研究所 === 89 === The purpose of this study was to explore the professional competencies for web page designers in Taiwan. The primary aims of this study are; 1) to analyze the professional competencies needed for the web page designers; 2) to investigate the importance of professional competencies for the web page designers; 3) to assess the difference in opinion in terms of the need for relevant competency for the web page designers from various organizational backgrounds; 4)to build the professional competencies needs for the web page designers in Taiwan. The research methods utilized in this study include literature reviews, interviews, and survey. The research instrument, namely the Professional Competencies of the Web Page Designers in Taiwan, is constructed based on data acquired from the literature reviews and interviews. The research subjects for data collection are based on web design companies from Taipei Computer Association members published in 2001. 385 web page designers in 95 companies were selected using sampling. 104 valid questionnaires were collected. The data was analyzed using Frequency distribution, percentage, mean, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffé method. The study concludes with the following findings. 1) There are 23 items professional competencies of “the very important degree ”for the web page designers ; There are 25 items professional competencies of “the important degree ”for the web page designers ; There are 2 items professional competencies of “the normal degree ”for the web page designers. 2) The professional competencies for web page designers have consistent agreement in the different of sex, graduate and work experience. 3) The professional competencies for the web page designers have inconsistent agreement in the different of age and educational degree. According to the conclusions, several suggestions are proposed for web page designers, those who intends to work in the field, the related training organizations, school, and the future research.
