Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 企業管理學系碩士在職專班 === 89 === Information technology (IT) has forces of change at organization structure, especially business apply Internet, Robot and E-mail system. Research on the relationship between information technology and organization structure, the result has been characterized as contradictory and inconclusive. The major results segmented as (1) IT can replace the work of middle managements and re-centralized the authorities to top managements; (2) IT increase decentralization; (3) IT has no effect on organization structure; (4) IT can affected decentralization, depending upon the business circumstances. The operationalization of information technology was IT department budget or number of computers in the past studies. But now IT has big improvement for its application, each information technology has its own objective properties. This research has studied either the consequences for organization structure associated with the use of different IT should vary in accordance with the differences in their properties or analysis the moderating factors between IT and organization structure. This research structure established through the finding of literature review and use questionnaire to investigate four manufacture and three service industries, the collecting data have use correlation and analysis of covariance, the result indicate as follows: Business adopted decision support system and hardware system have affected organization decentralization, and analysis the moderating factors, environment uncertainly, business industries, character of work routines and organization scale have affected the relationship between IT and organizational structure, but did not affected the relationship, when business adopted the hardware system.
