Moreover, there is a strong relation between the middle/elementary schools and community. Therefore, based on the school education system, it is an important issue to investigate how to emphasis the construction between school and community as well as to enhance community consciousness of the middle and elementary school teachers. However, a few of quantitative researches have addressed the influence of school education variables (e.g., in school years, occupations) on the teacher''s community consciousness. The current study utilizes the path-analysis method to analyze the '' An Investigating List of Social Transformation in Taiwan area - Questionnaire II - Social Network and Community (N = 2835)''. Results of the study show that the variables of in school years, job type is the middle/elementary school teacher or not, and others personal background influence on the community consciousness by through two intervening variables, they are: 1.The participation of community activities and organization: The study finds that people who have participated more community activities (including the community meeting, village activities, school activities, temple activities, and church activities) and have joined more community organizations (including to participate the organization’s activities, acting leader of the organization) would arise the community consciousness. 2.Satisfaction of the community life: Results of the study show that people who have higher satisfaction degree of the community life would arise their community consciousness. However, the influence of neighborhood social network variable (including the neighbor’s numbers and neighborhood’s relationship of the feeling and functional network) on community consciousness is not significant; that is, it is not an intervening variable. The present study shows that there is no significant between the middle/elementary teachers and other occupations in community consciousness. However, for those teachers who have participated more community activities, especially the participation of school activities, would arise their community consciousness, and vice versa. People who have more learning years in the elementary and middle school would participate more community activities and community organizations, therefore, would arise their community consciousness. For those who had received college diploma and had more years in the school would participate more community organizations as well as would arise their community consciousness, however, they are less satisfied to the community life and would descend their community consciousness. And such conflict symptom may cause the influence of the in-school years variable of college level and up on community consciousness is not significant. Finally, based on the results of the study, suggestions to the teachers, schools, educational administrations, community development unit and future studies are addressed and listed. 黃毅志 2001 學位論文 ; thesis 92 zh-TW
