碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 生活應用科學研究所 === 89 === In recent years, due to the impacts of A-V media, there had a lot of changes in people’s egos. National and international researches indicated that undergraduate students’ love relationship adjustment and the premarital sexual behaviors were affected by the egos. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the correlation among love relationship adjustment, premarital sexual behavior and self-concept.
This study investigated 1,100 undergraduate students, from sophomores to seniors, in 21 universities in Taipei area. The subjects either had had love experiences or had ongoing relationships. There were 916 students, including 525 males, 390 females and 1 not answer, completed the questionnaires with valid responses. The testing instrument was a questionnaire that included items designed to elicit information regarding demographic information, self-concept, love relationship adjustment (LRA) and premarital sexual behavior. Therefore, researcher wondered how the demographic information influenced the self-concept, LRA, and premarital sexual behavior. Otherwise, also wondered the differences of the couples’ self-concept influenced the LRA and premarital sexual behavior.
The data analysis used Percentage, Frequency Distribution, Mean, Standard Deviation, T-test, One-way ANOVA, Chi-Square and Pearson Product Correlation. These methods referred above derive from SPSS for Windows. The results of this study were:
1.Undergraduate students’ self-concepts tended to "positive " situation.
2.The LRA of undergraduate students tended to "fine " situation.

Males had higher self-concept than females. Students majored in technological category had higher self-concept than students majored in social category. Juniors had higher self-concept than sophomores. Students lived in municipality and lived with parents had higher self-concept. Students with three times heartbroken experiences had higher self-concept than one. Students with high SES had higher self-concept than middle or low SES students.
5.Undergraduate students’ LRA were differed by residence before age 15, people who live with, and SES. Students lived in municipality had well adjustment. Students lived with parents had better LRA than lived with relatives and same-sex friends. Students with high SES had better LRA than middle or low SES students.

Students in public universities engaged in premarital sexual behavior more often than private university students. Males engaged in premarital sexual behavior more often than females. Students majored in humanistic category engaged in premarital sexual behavior more often than students majored in technological or social category. Students who connected with religion engaged in premarital sexual behavior more often none-religions. Students, lived with parents or in municipality, never had heartbroken experience and middle SES, engaged in premarital sexual behavior more often.

8.Undergraduate students who engaged in premarital sexual behavior indicated different self-concept. The higher score in self-concept, the higher possibility in premarital sexual behavior. In contrast, the lower score in self-concept, the less possibility in premarital sexual behavior.
9.There were no differed between LRA and premarital sexual behavior.
10.Undergraduate students’ self-concept, LRA, and premarital sexual behavior were affected by the demographic information.
These results did have some implications for undergraduate students to enhance the sexuality education, to realize the needs and values during the university periods, to build up self-concept and to foster harmonious love relationship. The couples should attach each other by spirit and soul, and join the extra-curricular activities all the time. When they experience pain or difficulty, try to seek for the help. Otherwise, parents should pay more attention to the parent-child communication and help the child to solve their trouble. And the school authorities should emphasize the dual-sex general courses. For the future research, we recommend exploring the antecedents of "love" and "sex" continuously, and it will benefit not only the intimate consulting but also the development of gender education.
