As hydrogen sulfide vapor can damage eyes, respiratory organs, and cranial nerves, and because it happened that people who were hired to clean hot spring tank was killed for breathing excessive hydrogen sulfide gas, detecting the concentration of exposed hydrogen sulfide for hot spring maintenance people, that are those conduct simple maintenance operation, tank cleaning operation, pipe patrolling operation, therefore were conducted. The characteristics of hot spring in Peitou area can be categorized into acid sulfate (while sulfide), acid sulfate chloride (green sulfide), and mid to weak acid (iron sulfide). These three categories were compared if there were any difference in the hydrogen sulfide concentration that effects simple maintenance people for short-period exposure; and the factors of weather condition that effects pipe patrol people for short-period exposure. The results were shown in the following: 1. The range of hydrogen sulfide concentration of short-period exposure to simple maintenance people is N.D.∼31 ppm, the average concentration is 0.92 ppm; the short-period exposure concentration to tank cleaning people is N.D.∼135 ppm and the average is 14.21 ppm; the short-period exposure concentration to pipe patrolling people is N.D.∼160 ppm and the average is 5.02; the short-period exposure to pipe change people is N.D.∼50 ppm and the average is 1.64 ppm. 2. The hydrogen sulfide concentration of the three hot spring is ordered as white sulfide > green sulfide > iron sulfide. 3. The factors effecting the concentration that pipe patrolling people exposed, other than the size of the solfatara exhausting sulfide, subterranean heat vapor, and the distance between exhausted solfatara and hot spring pool, weather conditions also effect the concentration of hydrogen sulfide: in terms of timing, the concentration is in the order of night >early morning > late morning; in terms of weather, rainy day > cloudy day > fine day; in terms of temperature, it is below 20℃ > 20℃∼25℃ > above 25℃; in terms of humidity, it is above 80% > 60∼80% > below 60%. This study suggests: create a sedimentary tank in front of hot spring tank so that hot spring flows from source to the sedimentary tank before going into hot spring tank, the mud from the source along with hot spring will stay in the sedimentary tank; the bottom of hot spring tank should be inclined and a discharged valve should be placed at the end of the inclined bottom, the mud in hot spring tank can be discharged periodically to reduce the frequency and time of cleaning hot spring tank. Also, exhausted hole should be installed at man-hole so that hydrogen sulfide concentration cannot be excessively accumulated to reduce the exposure of maintenance people. 林宜長 2001 學位論文 ; thesis 105 zh-TW
