Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 機械工程學系 === 89 === The heat transfer analysis software-PHOENICS has been studied and compared the results with the existing CPU air-cooled heat exchanger. The comparison shows that the analytical results by PHOENICS is the same as the experimented results provided by the vendor. The minimization of entropy generation has been adopted for the highest efficiency design of the air-cooled CPU heat exchanger with the rectangular fin type. The optimum geometrically design can be obtained subjected to the design constraints by the restriction from the manufacturing and the cost consideration. Two primary design concept, fixed maximum-heat-dissipation, and fixed minimum-surface-temperature, has been presented in this study. The designer can select one of the method by the actual requirements. The optimum design method presented in this study can be used for further study a systematical air-cooled CPU heat exchanger.
