The usages of cellular phones have stepped into a period of maturity. Since it would have been hardly to meet all users’ demand from any mobile phone company, the end users should be properly classified. Motorola product planning manager, Jia-Bao Chang, indicated that it based on the surveying of between 14 and 60 years old of the end users as surveying objects (Dai-Shan Lo; 2000). It has shown that majority has already purchased new cellular phones between 17 and 44 years old. However, there are middle and senior users who are over 45 years old around 12% of usages. If a questionnaire extends to 64 years old of the users, the percentage of the users is getting higher. Therefore, cellular phone manufactures have to look up mobile phone market in the uses of middle age group. From our research about middle age users and the youth’s sitting and standing for speed operation, it can be found that there is a big difference of operational types and efficiency obviously. To analyze the button width, height, and the button of horizontal and vertical distance from response surface method, RSM, it can be set up four factors and three levels that uses orthogonal array of Taguchi Method to apply the test II of experimental planning. It depends on the actual cellular phone operational model and measurement software to record the user’s operational time and the percentage of errors in the experiment. The result indicates that the distance between keys should be less than 2 mm to avoid the occurrence of some improperly button structural issues. Therefore, there is some parameters requirement that middle age user’s sense of touching and continuously operation is slower. Hence, when the keys of width less than 8 mm, the height of keys should be greater than 2 mm that middle age users have better sense of touching and operation functionally.
