The study of life style, medical utilization and health status of employess in Hsinchu Science-Based industrial park

碩士 === 國立陽明大學 === 社區護理研究所 === 89 === The purposes of this cross-sectional study were to explore the relations among demographic characteristics, life style, medical utilization and health status of the employees from Hsinchu Science-Based industrial park. A self-administered structural questionnaire survey was conducted. A convenient sample of 567 employees was recruited. The response rate were 85.6%. The results of this study showed that：（1）The scores of exercise and health responsibility were lower than stress management, interpersonal support, nutrition, and self-actualization.（2）About seventy-four percent employees chosen western medicine as their favorest medical utilization type.（3）The distances, convenience for transportation, and usual practice were three factors influencing choice of medical care.（4）The scores of vitality and general health were lower than physical functioning, role functioning-physical, bodily pain, social functioning, mental health, and role functioning-emotional.（5）According to stepwise mutiple regression analysis, health status, positive medical utilization, health insurance and age are the significant predictors and contribute 15% variance to life style.（6）The life style, company’s characters and marriage status are the significant predictors and contribute 7% variance to positive medical utilization. The health status, education, company’s characters, gender and life style are the significant predictors and contribute 9% variance to negative medical utilization.（7）The life style, negative medical utilization , history, company’s characters and gender are the significant predictors and contribute 18% variance to health ststus.（8）The results from the structual equation model（SEM）indicated that life style were positive correlated to positive medical utilization and health status but negative correlated to health status, negative medical utilization. Based on this study, the results can be used as the reference of health policy making, health care practice, education, and also as the recommendation for the future research.
