Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立政治大學 === 教育學系 === 90 === The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationships among family boundary, codependency, and interpersonal adjustment. The sample consisted of 559 college students from 10 universities in Taiwan .Instruments used in this study included CIFA, Codependency Assessment Scale, Interpersonal Adjustment Scale. Data obtained in this study were analyzed by frequency distribution, t-test , two-way analysis of variance and canonical correlational analysis. The main findings were as follows: 1.There were significant gender differences in parent-children subsystem boundaries, including“love, physical intimacy, caregiving, emotional support”of mother’s closeness- caregiving subscale,“separation anxiety, Possessiveness/ jealously” of mother’s intrusiveness subscale, “openness/self-disclosure,conflict avoidance”of mother’s communication subscale,“love, caregiving”of father’s closeness- caregiving subscale, “separation anxiety , anger/aggression , possesiveness/ jealously ,demand to submit”of father’s intrusiveness subscale. 2.There were significant gender differences in codependency , but there weren’t significant birth order differences in codependency among Taiwan college students. In addition, the gender didn’t have interaction effect on the birth order in codependency. 3.There were significant differences in codependency among family boundary types. 4.In parental subsystem, the variables of “ mother’s openness of communication”、“father’s intrusiveness”and “mother’s intrusiveness” could significant predict codependency, but there were significant differences existed among these variables on codependency of different gender college students. 5.The Canonical correlation exits among X variables (codependency and family boundaries ) and Y variables( interpersonal adjustment). Finally, implications and suggestions were proposed for counseling services , education of parents, and future research .
