From this experiment and the result of analyze we can find that the main effective factor of pier scour is strength and direction of overfall jets and the type of channel bed located is the second effective factor. We another find when we located the pier on upstream of scour hole on free overfall flow not only does not cause the deeper local scour holes than pure overfall fall, but also provide the function to protect channel bed; when we located the pier with deepest on submerged overfall flow, the biggest scour point of experiment shoe beside the downstream pier not around the pier.
