Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系碩博士班 === 90 === The damage of exit and wall surrounding the exit are observed very often during earthquake. This kind of damage makes people fled difficultly during and after earthquake. The main purpose of this thesis is to investigate the fundamental behavior of this problem, and to provide the suggestion for performance-based design. In this investigation, in addition to the survey of actual earthquake damage of exit and surrounding wall, we designed 13 specimens and experimented in the lab. The specimens were tested under in-plane forces until failure reached. From the tests, following results are observed:(1) The damage mode of door including distortion of frame、door plank extruding door frame、breaking of lock and hinges. (2) Door jammed at different relative displacement for various specimens. The range covers the relative displacement angle 2/1000 to 10/1000. (3) During test, the horizontal crack across the wall and just passing above the door frame occurred first in most of the walls specimens, and the relative displacement angle corresponding to this crack were between 6/1000 and 10/1000. (4) When vertical cracks appeared, the floor relative displacements were more than 12/1000. (5) The specimen without proper fixers may leave large residual displacement after test, which is not good for fleeing after earthquake. Finally, in this thesis, based upon the experimental results, three levels of performance-based design that consider the damage exits with surrounding brick wall are suggested. The relative displacement angle corresponding to the three design levels are provided. Also, several criterions for evaluating the seismic performance of important exit and surrounding wall are given in this research.
