Based on application domain, the system can be divided into two parts. The first is the study of integrating case-based reasoning into product green design. The second is the web-based product green catalog system. The case-based reasoning model of mobile phone environmental impact is to use one of artificial intelligence method, case-based reasoning, which learn human thinking and reasoning style as the system structure. Consequently, a computer-aided design system is structured to assist product designer with acquiring environmental impact estimating data of the mobile phone product. Furthermore, the system is structured on the internet working platform. Therefore, it will overcome the problems of use difficulties which are caused by different using time and different using place. It will allow product designer, environmental impact estimating staffs and website managers to use and maintain the functions of system in the same time. Therefore, the web-based system is effective in facilitating teamwork in product development. Besides, it can enhance the application value of system and increase the efficiency of product design ability. The purpose of product green catalog system is providing a selective interface, which allows to users use this system to survey the degree of environmental friendly products in the same category. The system can offer complete product environmental information and characteristics to designers or consumers who don’t deal with green design. Hence, they can obtain more clear product environmental information and use this information to judge the degree of environmental friendly of the product. These environmental information also can be treated as choosing reference during the decision-making of consumers purchasing.
