The purpose of the study was to examine the current operation and performance evaluation of the Advisory Committees for Education by utilizing CORPS model .
In the literature about CORPS model and the Advisory Committees for Education , it provided five aspects of the Advisory Committees for Education , including the position of the organization, the structure of the organization , personnel , the interaction with related units , the authority operation and function of the organization, and the six criteria of the CORPS model ,including the achievement of the tasks and societal acceptance ,efficiency , involvemennt , degree of satisfaction , degree of balance , degree of transposition . Then , the author attempted to examine the expectation of scholars and specialists , the members of the Advisory Committees for Education , the educational administrative personnel , the chairman of the teacher-association , the principal of elementary school and junior high school of the four counties and cities in central Taiwan .The survey of questionnaire includes subjects-370 people , the effectuate questionnaire are 227 copies , and the recovery rate is 61.35﹪. In addition , according to the purpose of the study, selected typology questions to interview the members of the Advisory Committees for Education to benefit by canvassing various opinions to conclusion. Finally , the hypotheses were tested by using one-way ANOVA.
The conclusion of the study are as the followings:
A. The current operation of the Advistory of Committees for Education
1. The position is uncertain
2. Lack of appropriate personnel and budget
3. The system of personnel is doubted
4. The interaction among related units is poor
5. The right of participation is passive
6. The function is to offer advices
7. The government is not good at promotion
B. The performance evaluation of the Advisory of Committees for Education
1. the achievement of the tasks and societal acceptance are low
2. efficiency is not high
3. involvement is not positive
4. degree of satisfaction is polar
5. The expectation and quality is unbalance
6. The opinion of mutual exchange is poor.
C. The degree of understanding of the Advisory of Committees for Education
According to the findings, the topmost is Taichung among the four counties and cities in centeral Taiwan.As for the status, the rankings are the members of the Advisory Committees for Education , teacher-association warden, scholars and specialists, the educational administrative personnel , the principal of elementary school and junior high school. According to the investigation , the study provides suggestions as reference:
A. suggestions for legislature
1. The position should be clear and definite
2. The term of office should assorted the mayoralty.
B. suggestions for relatd units
1. to build a set of election system of vitrifaction members
2. to provide related information before captaincy
3. to provide specific personnel and budget
4. to build information conduit
5. the chief should participate in the operation
C. suggestions to further studies
1. the locations of the study can be enlarged
2. the samples of the study can be extended to teachers
3. the variables can add the mayors’ political party
4. the methods of the study can be deepened
