碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 家庭教育研究所 === 90 === The purpose of the research is to explore parent’s parenting beliefs and participation in children’s study The parental background variables have education degree and occupation types. The samples are parents of the first-year elementary school students, including 536 mothers and 530 fathers in the Yun-Chia area. The approach of the research is literature analysis and a questionnaire survey. The tools are “Parenting Beliefs of Mother Scale” and “Participation Children study Scale”. All the data have been analyzed through statistical methods “t-test”, “one-way ANOVA” and “regression analysis ”. The conclusions of research are as follows: 1. Findings revealed that mothers were more participative in children’s study than fathers. 2. There were salient differences between the education degree 、occupation types of parents and their participation in children . 3. The parents of high education degree were more participative study than the parents of low education degree. 4. There were salient differences between the education degree of mothers and parenting beliefs. . 5. The parents of high education degree were more stressing on children traits and experiences than the parents of low education degree. 6. The mothers were more stressing on children traits and experiences than fathers. According to the outcomes obtained above, there were suggestions offering to parents, school, and future studies.
