Summary:碩士 === 南華大學 === 出版學研究所 === 90 === The main purpose of this study is to compare the university master programs in publishing between Taiwan R.O.C., United States of America and United Kingdom. In comparative education model, this thesis takes G.Z.F. Bereday’s comparative education method to analyze the differences of disciplinary characteristics, programs development status and curriculum plans of master programs in publishing. Finally, provide the feasible suggestions for higher education in publishing in Taiwan area. The main findings conclude 7 factors that will affect the development of higher education in publishing cross the three areas. There are: 1.modern publishing industry’s business models are aiming to go professionalization, globalization, conglomeracy and commercialization; 2.higher education keeps extending; 3.digital technology reformation brings the information society; 4.continning education extension; 5.domestic and overseas publishing marketplaces extension; 6.publishing career and the capacity of the professional human resources are getting upgrade and need exchange the new ability and knowledge; 7.the interdisciplines are growing up and the field between the different disciplines are getting indistinct. After comparing the master programs in publishing, the conclusions of this comparative study are: 1.publishing is a study field that is according to multiple disciplinary integration; 2.current master programs in publishing focus on vocational oriented training and education; 3.publishing curriculum plans focus on the process management and practical experience. Based on the above conclusions, some suggestions of this study are: 1.to implement the publishing disciplinary position, role, and the theoretical component; 2.to establish the mutiple human resourse development strategies and training paths; 3.to develop the learning and researching activities with the publishing industries, in order to carry out the opportunities of industries-universities collaboration.
