In recent years, government recognizes the importance of science and technology development. Only science and technology can prolong the industry life. Since resource is limited, current government policy tool almost targets on high science and technology industries (ten largest emerging industries, eight key technologies), while machinery industry is classified as one of ten largest emerging industries and one of important investment industries as well. To upgrade science and technology development, many R&D institutes are established to conduct the R&D and transfer the successful R&D results to industries.
This research aims to study the transfer performance, takes technology transfer cases of machinery field in the science & technology projects sponsored by Ministry of Economics Affairs as research target and conducts the questionnaire survey. The returned questionnaires from 74 manufacturers are used as samples to carry out the analysis on technology transfer model, technology accepter characteristics, technology provider characteristics and influence of technology property on technology transfer performance with empirical results as follows:
1.There is no significant difference of technology transfer model (preliminary participation, technology transfer) on technology transfer performance of technology transfer.
2.There is no significant difference of industrial category and technology characteristics of technology transfer on technology transfer performance.
3.Among factors to influence performance of technology transfer, the characteristic of technology demonstrates obvious significance, while technological compatibility of characteristic of technology exhibits most significant.
