Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東師範學院 === 數理教育研究所 === 90 === The Research of Teaching Problem-solving in Time Calculating by Addition and Subtraction to 5th Grader of the Elementary School Abstract The purpose of this research is to propose a teaching project with the tuition idea of The Nine-year Integrated Curriculum in mathematical learning field. The projects as “teaching word problem that arithmetically calculating time by addition and subtraction methods” were propose and implemented. The instructor is the researcher of this paper. The learners were a class of 5th grader at one elementary school in Kaohsiung city. The data came from the researcher as instructor and the elementary 5th grader as learners. The ways of gathering this data were accomplished by observing, interviewing, writing examination paper from learner, and answering questionnaires by learner. Four curriculum projects as “teaching circumstantial descriptive questions that mathematically calculating time by addition and subtraction methods” were designed and implemented by integrating teaching activities, such as the drills of solving the word problem by learners, problem-solving as well as problem-posing and discussion. After this projects were performed, the results can be shown as follow: 1. Due to the feasible teaching procedures and activities, this four teaching projects can be offer other teachers the basal teaching materials as they are compiling their teaching materials. 2. This curriculum projects can efficiently improve students’ ability of discriminating the amount of time and the point in time .It can also improve students’ performance on the test that arithmetically calculating time; therefore the learning motivation can be promoted.
