The design of this research was a longitudinal survey. A sample of 200 couples in their third trimester was recruited from two obstetrical outpatient centers in middle region of Taiwan. The same subject was approached again at postpartum units. The total valid sample size for postpartum was 141 couples. The questionnaires consisted of descriptive statistics, factor analysis, χ2, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation, and stepwise multiple regression were used to analyze the data. The results were as follows: (1) First three expectations about expectant parents childbirth were safety and staying healthy, labor duration’s being short and normal, and be encouraged by nurse. (2) The first rank of positive feelings towards birth experience of expectant parents was touching baby (3) Expectant mother more expecting the birth environment and the supporting professional staff than expectant father.
