Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺中師範學院 === 自然科學教育學系 === 90 === The purpose of this study was to explore the possible ways of implementing STS educations to develop school-based curriculum in elementary schools. The study have provided teaching patterns and references for school-based curriculums. The researcher tried to reflect and put ideas into real practices from a learners’ point of view to grow professionally and gained more comprehensions from the cooperative action research within one year. The study was based on co-operative action inquiry. The research group consisted of four elementary school teachers and one student’s parent to design lesson plans, developed textbooks and engaged in circulations of teaching based on the development of curriculums. Through the experiences of collecting teaching logs, personal interview memos, records of observations, feedbacks and journals/notes of explorations, the researcher expected to show the process of the developments. The results of this study were as follows:(1)The theory of teaching was as important as its implementations. The teaching plans in print have to be transformed to the real activities. Through the engagements of activities, the researcher and the partners could adjust the curriculums by sharing experiences, participations and reflections.(2)The research showed the possible ways of implementing STS education for daily teachings and references for teaching revolutions.(3)Through the creative curriculums, the teaching materials based on students and school plants were excellent activities to promote school-based curriculums. Therefore the STS education could provide references for curriculum designs.(4)The research partners have learned and grown professionally through discussions and class observations.(5)The curriculum integration developed by teachers still needed further explorations according to the learning conditions of students. It helps to relieve the doubts of students’ parents and the societies on the curriculums developed by teachers.(6)In the research, there were lack of professional supports and without evaluations. To avoid the trap of implementing school-based curriculums, the related strategies had to be discussed and carried out. The above suggestions of curriculum designs and teachers’ professional growth were for the references/interest of individuals or organizations.
