Summary:碩士 === 臺中師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 90 === An Investigative Research of the Job Stress and the Coping Strategy for Resource Room Teachers in the Elementary School Advisor:Dr. Jung-Chao Hung Student:Mei-Chun Chou Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate both the job stress of the resource room teachers and the coping strategy adopted under their job stress in the elementary school. Research samples are 314 elementary school teachers in Taiwan area, among which returned questionnaire mails are 265 (84.39﹪)copies and 243 mails are considered as effective samples. Factor analysis, t test, and ANOVA are used to establish and analyzing the validity and effects of the questionnaire. The main findings of this study are discussed and elaborated as follows: 1. Current situation of job stress: Most teachers in the resource room feel certain level of job stress. Among various dimensions of job stress, “receiving regular interview and evaluation ” and “coping with regular teachers ” are of the most pressure .In terms of single situation of job stress, the above two works stands for the significant stress pressure. 2. Current coping strategy on job stress: Most teachers adopt at first the “problem solving” and “requesting supports” frequently. In term of action, “attending related special education course” and “spend more time to prepare for teaching ” were the most frequent choices. 3. Job stress varies from personal background variables, which include sex, age, teaching years, professional knowledge, working place, and with or without children. 4. Coping strategy varies from personal background variables, which include sex, age, teaching years, the numbers of class, working place, marital status and with or without children. 5. It is suggested that a clear system on the work interview and evaluation of resource room works and the enhancement knowledge training are necessary. The training of evaluation and teaching in occupational training institutions are important. In the elementary schools, the helps for teachers to improve special knowledge and the meeting as well as evaluation on resource room teachers are necessary. The resource room teachers are suggested to learn from experienced teachers and to build up mutual relationship with teacher in regular chasses. The involvement of social supporting resources is specially recommended. The future research may focus more on the comparison among different classes of teachers.
