Summary:碩士 === 臺中師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 90 === Abstract The purposes of this study were to investigate the job bother and coping strategy (methods) for elementary school principals in Yunlin county of Taiwan. The first purpose was to analyze the current development and relationships of elementary school principals’ job bother and coping strategy (methods). The second one was to analyze the differences of job bother and coping strategy (methods) of elementary school principals with different background variables. Finally, the results of this study will offer some suggestions for educational authorities, teacher training institute, principals, and further studies. The research methods employed in this study was survey method with a questionnaire. One 156 principals in elementary schools in Yunlin county were the objects in this study. Among them 44 principals were selected randomly to fill out the questionnaires of pretest, with the return of 100﹪. The other 112 principals were the formal objects of the questionnaires, with the return of 111 valid questionnaires. The data was analyzed through the methods of descriptive and inferential statistics, including mean, standard deviation, independent-samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation. The following conclusions are drawn from this study: 1. The condition of job bother of principals is not serious. 2. The coping strategy (methods) by principals are acceptable. 3. Female principals have higher job bother consciousness than male principals. 4. Principals with different backgrounds have different job bother consciousness. 5. Principals with different backgrounds have different coping strategy (methods) when facing job bother. 6. The relationship between job bother and coping strategy (methods) was negatively related. In general, the more job bother the principals met, the less response methods the principals adopted. Based on the finding and conclusions in this study, recommendations for educational authorities, teacher training institutes, principals, and further studies are also included. 1. Suggestions for educational authorities: (1)Hold interactivities termly to improve relationship between principals. (2)Adjust school administrative organizations to reduce principals job bother. 2. Suggestions for teacher training institutes: (1)Improve professional development for female principals to enhance their job efficiency. (2)Establish professional licensure for principals to enhance their professional knowledge and ability. 3. Suggestions for principals: (1)Promote principals growing team, to enhance the ability. (2)Cultivate the instructional leader ability, do courses leader well. 4. Suggestions for research in the future: (1)in research objects Take in principals of other regions or of country-wide to obtain higher representative and validity. (2)in research variables Take in some other influential factors, such as politics, school activities … etc. to get more effectiveness (3)In research instruments and methods Adding interviews and data collecting to make up the shortness of quantitative research.
