These complexes have been characterized by element analysis, UV-vis , CD , IR and EPR spectroscopic measurements. By using three-dimensional X-ray diffraction methods, the crystal and molecular structure of the following complex have been determined. The crystal data of the complex are given below: 1. [Cu(sal-L-ser)(H2O)2] Orthorhombic, space group P212121, with a = 4.7884(6) Å, b = 12.3049(1) Å, c = 19.393(3) Å, V = 1142.6(3) Å3, Z = 4, R = 0.0373, Rw = 0.0918。 2. [Cu(3,5-di-t-butyl-sal-D-val)] Monoclinic, space group C2, with a = 31.234(2) Å, b = 6.7977(4) Å, c = 10.1196(6) Å, V = 2102.7(2) Å3, Z = 4, R = 0.035, Rw = 0.071。 These chiral complexes catalyzed the sulfoxidation of thioanisole with hydrogen peroxide. It is the first report. In addition, these copper(Ⅱ) complexes also can use for epoxidation and oxidation of alcohol.
