Summary:碩士 === 國立海洋大學 === 河海工程學系 === 90 === This study tried to extract the information from images acquired by the CCD (charge coupled device) camera systems to observe and analysis wave properties in the wave basin. The techniques have the advantages in easy conducting and cost saving compared to the traditional measurements. The video signals are first recoded and converted into digital format by a frame grabber. In the mean time, timely changes of the gray scales of selected pixels of the image sequence will be compared with wave profiles measured by wave gauges. A transfer function can thus be formulated. Using this transfer function, we further compared results for other regions of the wave basin. It is shown here in this paper that the results for mechanically generated regular waves are favorable.
